✍️📖Second graders have been hard at work these past 10 weeks in their writer’s workshops crafting imaginative illustrated storybooks that hook the reader with a problem and feature a resolution with a clear beginning, middle, and end. And, yes, that’s right — second graders have sustained a ten week writing project! Through the writer’s workshop model, they’ve learned to: + brainstorm ideas, + structure a narrative with a problem and resolution, + use descriptive language, + offer and accept peer edits, + incorporate revisions into multiple drafts, and + bring their stories to life through vibrant illustrations. They’re now eagerly closing in on their publication date and book launch party now that the finishing touches are nearly complete.
