A New Year of Math Learning is Underway

🧮 Seems we’re already falling into a communal rhythm — across both campus, classes have been diving into math explorations, whether working theoretically and considering our goals and perspectives of math as a discipline, or jumping in with hands-on provocations.

PCS’s balanced math approach combines conceptual understanding and computation. Using manipulatives and multisensory practices keeps young mathematicians engaged, reinforces the numerical values represented by written digits and helps math students across levels develop confidence in their understanding and skills.

These early days offer low-stakes opportunities to ease students back into what can be confidence-shaking academic area using games, reflection and student-guided projects.
