5th Annual PCS Maker Fair Returns!!

Peconic Community School held its 5th Annual PCS Maker Fair Saturday, April 13 at the school’s new downtown Cutchogue campus . The Maker Fair was a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness in celebration of the Maker movement.

The Fair featured over 30 makers from the community, ranging from artists and farmers to astronomers and inventors, who were on hand to offer demonstrations and workshops to visitors. The fair also featured a full line-up of performances including a jazz concert, magic show, author readings, a puppet show and a drumming circle! Peconic Community School students hosted a multi-room Cardboard Arcade, an enormous cardboard building station and a Float-Your-Boat station where visitors could build and race homemade boats. Not to be missed were the treasure map vending machine from PCS first graders, the chance to throw pottery on the wheel with Ms. Anna, jazz improv on the sessions with Olivia Foschi and East End Jazz, and the shrimp tacos from Balos in the sidewalk food market.

We couldn't be more grateful to all of the visitors, vendors, students, makers and performers who made this the biggest, best, most creative, innovative and community-filled Maker Fair yet!!
