Skating, but not on thin ice
In addition to the sledding meetups, the PA will organize ice skating meetups this winter as well on snow days and on weekends. There are several ice rinks in our area, including Southampton Ice Rink, which is covered, and Greenport Ice Skating Rink at Mitchell Park as well as (a bit further west) The Rinx at Port Jefferson.
In addition, Amanda Abraham's children Maddy and Liam Sullivan (MP) are taking skating lessons at Southampton Ice Rink on Tuesdays from 5:45 to 6:45 from January 10 to February 28 if anyone wants to join.
Southampton Ice Rink offers other classes throughout the week as well as great teachers.
If Greenport is closer for you, Dani Rodger (917-363-9178) will be organizing ice skating meetups at the Greenport Ice Skating Rink on Saturdays at noon, with hot cocoa at Little Creek Oysters afterward.
The PA will help coordinate ice skating meetups through the winter season as well, so please pass on any info you care to share. We want our children to stay active and healthy--and have tons of fun--this winter!
