What Kind of World Do You Want to See?

The aim of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals is to serve as a universal call to action to all nations to create a world of prosperity for both people and the planet.

In approaching the Sustainable Development Goals as a trimester long focus of study for our Integrated Studies Unit, second graders started out by thinking about what a world of prosperity looks like. As a class, they set out to illustrate a world of prosperity and the changes that would need to happen to transform our current world into a prosperous world.

Using transparent overlays, they created a visual representation of our current reality and a prosperous future, showing that somethings need to be removed (violence, weapons, pollution) and some things need to be added (green space, kindness and love).
